New Year Shocker…UBA Sacks Large Percentage Of Workers

News have been circulating social mediathat Tony Elumelu’s United Bank for Africa (UBA) has given its staff a new year shocker with a nationwide retrenchment.
Insidebankinghall gathered that few days into the new year, the Bank whose famous philanthropic owner, Tony Elumelu is currently running a $5,000 grant to entrepreneurs under the aegis of The Tony Elemelu Foundation (TEF) sacked a large percentage of its workforce.
According to reports, UBA found an unusual way to recoup its endorsement money of Wizkid which was reported as being $3million (equivalent of over N1billion).
Although the bank is yet to confirm the report, a lot of Twitter users who were former employees of the bank and those whose friends and relatives were retrenched have shared tweets about the massive nationwide sack.
A lot of them are angry with the manner UBA fired its employees without any forewarning.
